Drive belt tensioner query!!!

Hi folks, my first time on here but can,t find any info on refitting the drive belt tensioner!
Just had camchain replaced by a friend but drivebelt is squeeling on a morning so i need
to check if its been refitted correctly. Any help would be greatly apreciated :thumbup:

you simply use a 1/4 ratchet in the square hole in the tensioner

So is the tensioner spring loaded then and can you get in with the ratchet
without having to drop the engine? :think:

yes it's simply sprung loaded, there is a square hole in the tensioner, fit the ratchet into the hole and lift the tensioner away from the belt, then slip the belt off before lowering the tensioner

it's a little fiddly but quite easy, you might need to remove the air filter for better access, but thats it 🙂

I am doing a similar thing this weekend as my drive belt frayed then snapped on Friday, so firstly thanks for the info and the detail.... been searching the net for 3 days only info i could find related to the timmer belt.... turns out my engine model does not have a belt but a chain...doh

One question does any one have a diagram of the belt?? i have seen lots but not one for this engine

I thought it was 3/8" not 1/4" notsure.gif
