Skoda Fabia Paint Marks

Afternoon everyone,

I've been asked to have a look at my friends Skoda Fabia, and there are some marks on the side which I have no idea how they have been made, and neither does he :confused:

They are on the drivers front and rear door, and they look like cracks in the lacquer

There are a lot more of them on the rear door.

The car is a 2007 Skoda Fabia VRS, and as far as he knows, it's not had a respray or any other corrective work done on it.

Has anyone seen anything like this before, or know what can be done to get rid of them?

if i was him if he got it new from the dealer would go and see them as im sure paint should be lasting longer than a year

Yeah, that is what everyone else has said Lee. He's going to be taking it back to Skoda on his day off this week.

Looks like a problem from the manufacturer. Must have been surface contamination somewhere along the way. Trouble is, it'll be difficult to pin point as these cars are left out in all winds and weathers before being sold to the dealers. Hopefully the dealer won't mess about and they'll put it right.

I work with a chap that bought a Mitsubishi brandnew a couple of years back and within a few months the paint went all spotty from underneath the paint. The bonnet, roof and wings were affected. They resprayed the whole car. Its been fine ever since.

Thats crazy,

There is something really wrong with the lacquer i would reccomend a full strip back of the panel.

He's still not taken it back to Skoda yet

i would have thought the longer he leaves it the less likley they will do anything about it

Yeah, I've tried telling him that. I'll pester him next time I see him to get his ass down to Skoda
