I'm Toby from Australia

I have a Astra G SRi 2.2

So far performance-wise I've done:
-2" Mild Catback
-De-restricted airbox with extra intake underneath & KN Panel
-eibach pro-kit

done a fair bit aesthetically thus far however what I'm really thinking about attempting to do is some sort of forced induction next year (Will depend on if I am working or Studying). At this stage I'm leaning very much towards a S/C conversion with the Eaton M62 that the cobalt ss uses (and eventually maybe even going nuts with the Harrop), only issue would be getting it all done here in Aus. Kinda hoping I can sort something out with courtenay so that maybe I can get parts shipped over and have conversion done locally but its all early days yet.

Just have one question I'd like to put out however, has anyone successfully turbocharged the z22se in an astra shell? I know its been done quite a bit over in the states but at the moment I'm about 70/30 towards S/C over a turbo because I don't know how a turbo would go for fitting in with the z22se.

as the astra can be easily bought with a z20let already fitted the turbo conversions just don't happen 🙁

so the sc route is the main route for forced induction.

but dbilas do sell a z22se turbo kit which should fit the astra

yeah i know of the z20let, (im a member on opelaus)

the S/C is probably the way I'd prefer to go, as it has actually been done in the astra's engine bay

at the moment I'm in gathering mode, getting as much info as I can so I can make an informed decision

welcome mate, lovely car and location. SC is the way forward for our engines, or actually dropping in a zlet, 300bhp should be a/v soon over here for the SC.

after a bit more reading around the place S/C is indeed the way ahead

just have to find out what exactly needs to be done so can plan for it in advance to avoid complications

wont say anything on OA until I order the first part... otherwise get the forum trolls over there saying how turbos > superchargers and all that crap... I have auzvectra in the loop however

I believe courtenay will remap your ecu, just a case of posting it half way around the globe and back again :lol:

The best thing to do would be a stand alone.
Also most expensive.
