Glass cleaner is very good mate, nice smell as well. Let us know how good the foaming head is as I need one for my AB britewheels. Re the paints4you stuff, did you get the one with lacquer already in?

Matt you have deff got the detailing bug.

Just be careful when you use the clay.

APC is great stuff also.

What are the issues with the clay Simon?

You probably already know this but.

If you use when cold and it is hard it can marr the paint.

You need to check it regularly when using it if it picks up any contamination it could put a defect in the paint.

I always have a jug of hot water and split the clay so one is always warm, once done 1/4 of panel I swap and use plenty of QD.

Already clayed the car mate, I bought that from Halfords over the weekend. I also remembered what you said about when you used it, so followed your information above, and the paintwork looks great.

It pulled out so much crap from the paint I was really surprised.

a fair bit of money spent there Matt, APC mixed at 4:1 is good stuff and safe too.

As Si said above take care with the clay even though the megs stuff is very mild.

I wish I'd have taken some pictures as I was doing the claying. I'd always been really dubious about getting a clay kit, after hearing about some of the issues Si had encountered before, but it seems to be fine on the Vectra's paint. There is no marring induced, and it's pulled a load of little tar spots which I didn't even know were there.

There were loads on the side skirts, most of these are now gone, and there was also quite a few on the roof as well, which surprised me.

Well, i never knew about keeping the clay warm. I must have been lucky so far. Thanks for explaining that Si. :-)

No worries, as said it is good stuff you just have to be careful when using it.

I could feel the clay starting to stick more when it was getting colder. Definately keep a bowl of warm water next to you when using it.
I also found that when putting the clay back in the water, the contamination in the clay was disapearing ??
