JohnnyN I bought some NGK Platinum plugs this evening. Thought i'd give them a try as my engine runs quite hot now. what..
vocky I have a set of those from the saab head I bought, but I will stick with standard plugs being n/a rather than sc. it will be interesting to see how long they last Johnny
JohnnyN I'm worrying again! Standard VX are triple electrode but these are single. Will this have an adverse effect? I've been looking for a set of Bosch but they don't do them for the z22se.
vocky they do bosch quad electrode for the z22se, don't they ? yes the ones I have from the saab head are single electrode
JohnnyN I've been looking online and I had a look thru' the Bosch listing in Hellfarts and there is nothing listed under Bosch for the z22se. I looked under Vectra, Astra and vx220 but no joy.
zafman i've been using the platinum plugs for a couple of years now and i have no complaints with them.I read up on spark plugs quite a bit before buying them and they give best results for your money.Although they have only one electrode the points where the spark jumps is a small point of platinum and this produces a larger spark......apparently  eventually the points wear out after about 10k and i replace the plugs
JohnnyN I had to gap them to this afternoon. The gap according to the Haynes manual is 1.1mm (0.043") I usually just put them straight in but I thought that i'd better do it properly.
sdbutler10 same johnny i just put mine straight in but thought i should really gap them on my own car when i come to change them. is it the same for the astra?
