Pro shine : Spray & Shine..

Well I know that this is going to get a lot of stick but I`ve just found my new car cleaning buddy.
I was a bit worried myself about using it, firstly on my new car, plus with it being black!!!!

I read through a few other forums etc, and most came back with some good reviews.
I appreciate the pro detaillers will never stray from their top notch products but I do alot of miles on crap roads, dont get alot of time to clean the car, and dont have the luxury of being able to just run a hose out the front door for a quick wash.
This is meant to be a water-less system - but even Im not that trusting. Most people that have used it said that its always best to wash the car if particulary dirty especially for the first coat.

Even a bloke off detailling world said it wasn`t a bad product.
Anyway... Kate got me some and today we gave it a go.....

First I rinsed the car...

Gave the bottle a shake, then sprayed it on....

Gave it a wipe around with a microfibre cloth supplied (x4, quite good-uns to)

Then simply wiped of with a clean one...

Kate helped with the tyre shine that came in the pack...tyres & grille..ta love...

A few finished pics.....then it rained lol....

i was watching this on one of the shopping channels the other night , i thought it sounded a bit dubious, especially when he said the dirt is lifted and suspended in the carnuba wax, that didnt make sense to me, carnuba is really hard in its natural form and needs solvents to soften it up. carnuba is supposed to leave a protective barrier.

but it looks like its done a decent job on your car, i cant help but think its going to put a lot of swirls in your paintwork mate!

your basically rubbing dirt around with a cloth.

I know what you mean.
Ill still wash the car prior to using this if its really mucky.
Although I love my little motor its not a show car and to be honest I think the overall finish is a lot better than thegeneralpolishes I have used in the past. ............and a lot less hassle, glass, plastic..just spray it on - wipe it off. No swirls or streaks. I was quite sceptical about using it but it hasnt marked the car, looked great in the 20 minutes of sun we had at all angles.

You're giving me raised blood pressure reading this!! You cannot use waterless system long term. Period!

This stuff will induce swirls in the paintwork. You are effectively rubbing dirt particals over the paintwork. Gritty shit in your cloth wil mark the paint. Stick to the tried and tested method of hosepipe to rinse, Meguires shampoo, Microfibre wash mit then rinse.

BTW, Kates cutey booties look rather rude!!

Cheers Johnny...I know what you mean, I do love the Kia, but not with the same passion I had for my Vxls. ....and Ill always get as much crap off by rinsing prior to using it.

& Kate looks lovely in just the boots.

Must admit after seeing the car saturday did look very shiny and no swirl marks either!
Think we may need another review in a couple of months D.

Intresting.

The car does look well but as said i would never ever trust waterless stuff. I can not see any harm though if you use it once you have washed the car to start with.

Quick update - after Si told me off for not cleaning inside the alloys and the exhaust I went out this morning for a quick once over after yesterdays quick clean.
Noticed lots of swirls forming in the paint work - the Pro-Shine stuffs not do what it says on the tin !!!!!!!
Granted Ill still use it as a polish & protection but wont trust it as I thought I would.

That's a shame mate, going to have to be a session with a PC to get the swirls out then

It's not really too bad Matt, just a bit gutted as it's not a year old yet.
It's soooo hard keeping it clean around here!!! It seemed like an ideal solution.
Will try and get some pics of the markings.

The pro shine prob didnt help but unless you are mega mega careful you are going to get some swirl marks on a day to day car that is black. It is possible but even with two bucket method WW towel etc i still get some swirling and odd RDS.

Yeah, it's not that bad really, I did take a pic of my exhaust after a clean but it was getting dark and the flash showed up every speck of muck!!!! too ashamed lol, will attack again tomorrow!!!
