Mark_Dj I was on a one day course the other day and the lad teaching us told us that our job was the second most dangerous job :? . He said fishermen was the 1st most dangerous job going. My job is dangerous because we work with live traffic on motorways and stuff (Traffic Management). Anyone else here have a dangerous job? I should get danger money doing my jon then :lol: . I do find my job dangerous sometimes ie when I am trying to cross the motorway with signs 10ft long and heavy frames to hold signs, then cars are flying past you doing more that 70mph :? .
Matt Nope, I sit on my arse for 12 hour a day, nothing dangerous about that (other than lack of excercise......gym sorts that though)
Mark_Dj I wish I had the time to hit the gym. I used to work in a factory all day til I got my new job. I much prefer being outdoors now, apart from the bad wether 🙂. Some parts on my last job were dangerous, working on the transporters loading cars I nearly fell off the top deck a few times.
vocky I had to take a confined spaces training course for one job, I had to wear breathing apparatus and crawl through an explosive atmosphere in an underground area, then work on electrical equipment, now that was quite a dangerous job !
Mark_Dj They are both dangerous jobs above. I hate going through small areas ie crawling. I did pot holing once, and I was crawling along with no room either side to move. If I wanted to go back I had to reverse crawl
Drakey Very laid back job mine...can be dangerous with some high voltages (100Kv on an ECM travelling wave tube test rig) Loads of high pressure hydraulics when working around aircraft with moving parts etc. Explosive cartridges on pylons, and a seat that blats you 0 - 60 in a matter of seconds - not good if your in a hanger. ...and can get quite warm around the back of the aircraft when its running lol
sdbutler10 i work on 30+tonn trucks so i could have one fall on me if its jacked up and the stands give out (which it did at our work years ago bloke died from it) but other than that i could get burnt on the exhauts i think thats dangerous 😃 lol
