you don't need to touch the 2.4 manifold, I did cut off some lugs when I fitted mine, but only because they are not used.
the suppressor can be fitted either way round, but it's best to fit the wire to the bolt and mount the suppressor out of the way on the body of the alternator (or even on the engine block if you want, but you will probably have to extend the wire)
