Hi guys can anyone help me please!!!!!!
i fitted a k&n panel filter and vectra air pipe and my engine managment light is on! it comes on for 100 miles and willl go out for 100 miles and come back on again does my head in, it drives fine it went to vaux last week for service and they said it air flow problem from the filter or air temp sensor which they said they changed but has made no difference

Where abouts have you put the air temp sensor?

There should be no EML coming on with simple mods such as panel filter and Vec C pipe.

vaux said they replaced the one on the car! i dont even know where the sensor is mate

As the pipe connected to the airbox comes out of the airbox, right on the bend before it goes across to the throttle body, there will be a sensor into a rubber grommet that goes into the pipe. This is the air temp sensor.

See my thread here. It shows the air temp sensor in the pipe. Have a read thru' all of it.

well they haven't changed that because it still looks old! They said it was something wrong with air supply and cant see how filter change and bigger air pipe makes would make it worse! i'm going to get it on diagnostic myself on saturday at my bro in laws work see what it comes up with

I think you'll find that the sensor is fooked! In that case you will have to jump on someone at the dealer. There is no way a panel filter and an enlarged air pipe will cause a problem.

i will go mad cause the warranty runs out this month! the vaux garage round corner is poo they messed me around loads with my car

did the mod last weekend and even created a new hole for the sensor in place of the breather

you could take the sensor out and give it a blast of carb cleaner along with the connector

dont know if the pin trick works on these ecu's but it is worth finding out the actual fault code

could also be a broken wire in the connector plug for the air temp sensor

NEVER DO THE PIN CHECK ON THE DELPHI ECU ON A Z22SE. YOU WILL BREAK IT AND YOU WILL BE SORRY!!

thanks guys i will try cleaning the sensor and checking if the cable is broke, i wont do the pin thing if it breaks the ecu

you need a tech2 reader to find the fault codes on the z22se cars

checked the fault code and vauxhall garage are wa**kers! the rear lambda sensor is broke! anything to get out of warrenty pay out! dont have much faith in main dealers anymore

which dealers are you going too?, i've been to Toomeys at Dunton and never had a problem there.

you alright dodger, yeah toomey's at dunton i think they are useless mate they phoned me at half 4 today and said it is the rear lambda sensor and they dont have the part! so few days wait for my car now hate getting the bus to station in the morning. i asked them about my imobliser cause its got fault on it to when checked on saturday they said they haven't looked at that yet
