hi,
i fitted the 2.4 inlet manifold over the weekend and i forgot to get a blanking plate. As i needed to remove the EGR or at least stop the exhaust gases coming out of the hole on the inlet side, i had a think about another way to do it.
Fortunately my EGR still works, so i wanted to keep it, so the next option was to create a blanking plate for were the exhaust gases enter the pipe.
firstly i removed the black metal gasket from the EGR pipe and then remove the metal manifold plate from the EGR pipe
Next i created a new blanking gasket out of a coke can, i did double it up for a bit more thickness though and the hole is less than 20mm
Finally i replaced the black metal gasket, marked were the outer holes should be and drilled them
The plate and three gasket plates were then refitted to the car,
TBH im quite pleased to how well it works and when my EGR finally dies i will purchase the EGR cheater and leave the EGR attached
