johnsastra16v Just curious, if a dbilas inlet manifold is fitted, will the car need mapping to run? i know it'l need mapping to work to its full potential, but will it need mapping just to run like normal?
vocky yes they require a remap, but they are a 'white elephant' now the 2.4 inlet manifold is available new for £175. so unless it's less than £100 don't bother cryb..
JohnnyN Yes mate it will need mapping. It even comes with its own software so its not just a case of bolt it on and go. It has to be installed by a tuner. Most probably Regal as they have the rights to dbilas in this country.
johnsastra16v i wasnt actualy looking at purchasing one. its just i had this manifold on my old astra, which was a copy of the dbilas. so thought about perhaps getting something similar done for the z22 opinions???
JohnnyN I think Vocky made up his own inlet manifold for the 2.2 but it was unsuccessful with the eml coming on and going into limp mode. The ECU on our cars just doesn't lend itself to inlet modification easily. Personally I think a stand alone ECU is the way to go with a major inlet mod.
johnsastra16v is therea thread with pics of vockys inlet?? i know, i keep reading how our ecu's are funny
