2.4 completely stuck with broken car

Hi all,

I've removed the EGR and put the blanking plate in and fitted the ECU EGR cheater. I've also re-set the ECU. The car is still not working and I'm completely out of ideas!

The car isn't starting up properly and after turning it over for a minute or so it fires up and sounds lumpy, the engine warning light stays on and after a couple of seconds the fan kicks in. It really doesn't sound healthy.

To make my life even worse I just dropped part of my tools down the engine bay and haven't got a jack to get the tray off arrg.g.g.g

I'm wondering if anyone can help me out, I'm near Heathrow and obviously can't travel! Or any ideas if you can't???

There is obviously something very wrong in how you have reassembled the parts.

The fitment should be trouble free. Have you checked that you have fitted the EGR cheater correctly to the wiring loom?

Have you got all the manifold seals fitted correctly?

Have you got the T/B seal fitted correctly?

Other than this there are only vacuum pipes to worry about. You need to go back over everything that you've done. Vocky or Daz can help you out via PM if you need to contact them.

As john has said above.....go back over all you have done.check all seals etc and make sure all the wring is plugged back in correctly and that the cheater is wired up properly....

check the crank sensor, map sensor, dis pack, ecu and throttle body connections

also make sure you have an earth cable bolted to the ecu metal body
