Main cat removal and OBD2

I read on vx220.org.co.uk about removing the main cat with a large metal pole :? and using an O2 simulator to fool the OBD2 system.
Has anyone done this and will it cause emissions problems for the MOT.

Thinking of trying to eek out a few more horsey's, I also have a new TB on the way which I am going to attempt to get enlarged 😃

Hmm, I am not sure on that one what.. . I would think it would probably fail the mot test with the main cat missing. The TB mod sounds interesting :wink:

I am lead to believe that if you remove the main cat then it would fail the emissions test, the precat removed is ok, but not the main one.

Why not go for a sports cat, they are avaialbe from places like Regal and help to flow more gas, while still passing the emissions test.

a vx220 lost power with the main cat removed, it would fail the mot also.

a sports cat is the best option.

I had a ported throttle body and the throttle response was much better.

the butterfly shaft is welded in place, so the butterfly can't be enlarged.
