Ok guys,

im needing a direction to go into next for the performanc eof my engine.

so far...

de-restricted airbox
pipercross panel filter
veccy c grille to airbox large pipe

at the weekend i will be de pre-cat'ing, and also porting the tb.

I dont fancy doing the 2.4inlet mod, and also unsure about cams.

what other options are there?

Why not the 2.4 manifold well worth the money

i had a 1.4 16v astra mk3, and a changed the inlet manifold on that. although chanign the car completley and giving a 25% power increase over standard (had it dyno'd), i beleive it was partly due to that that my engine blew. as the low rev range turned gutless, with all the power being above 4k rpm. this meant constantly ragging it to get anywhere.

and ive seen mixed opinions on the 2.4 inlet. Its just one thing that i dont want to do thats all

well other than that you got exhaust system. sport cat manifold ect, cams, remap not much else i can say but 2.4 should be on ur list. u were moaning about getting beaten by your mates 1.8 well now think on more power.

The 2.4 inlet manifold seems to give different results depending on the state of tune of the engine. On my car prior to the SC conversion it made no difference at all to the bhp but lowered the torque.

why some people see gains and others dont. beats me

it seems cars with the standard ecu map gain the most and remapped cars the least

but then again it could be something else ....

I doubt it, thorney motorsport have a few still, not sure whether they will sell them though

well we'll see how many tb porting goes at the weekend first

just port the tb, try and source a 2.4 mani, have a 2.5" downpipe, 200 sports cat, and 2.5" system made up, cams, and a remap, and you should hopefully be around 180bhpish.
