I have a set of blank cams that I'm going to put into a highly tuned NA engine... Pretty much everything else is done on the engine, and I'm going to fit ITB:s too...
So my question is what profiles (duration and lift) should i go for?
Pipercams only have one set of cams for the z22se, but I guess thats because they regrind the standard cams? If they can start from completely blank cams something a bit more extreme must be possible?
Piper cams state these types on their webpage:
BP255 (Approx 255 ° duration) Very mild road cam where low end improvements are needed
BP270 (Approx 270 ° duration) Fast road cam for use in otherwise unmodified engines
BP285 (Approx 285 ° duration) Top fast road cam for use in hot hatch and modified road engines
BP300 (Approx 300 ° duration) First stage competition cam, ideal rally cars, short circuit where some mid range is required
BP320 Top race profiles
Is there someting special with the z22se that stop me from using BP285 or PB300 instead of Piper cams standard profiles for the z22se (which I guess is equivalent to BP270)?
Has anyone tried this?
I'm going to send an e-mail to Piper Cams and ask them too, but I thought I should try and check here first.
