hmm, I'd not expect a kwik-fit replacement exhaust to backfire, as the cats will still be in place, and a big middle silencer as well.
With regards to having it replaced, there are a few different options you could go for, but really depends on what you want to acheive with it (ie do you want something loud and shiney, or nice and subtle) and also how much you want to spend on it.
