also if they test drive it make sure they are insured to drive other cars
i pretty lax about giving out test drives and i usually let them take out the car without me being present providing i have their car keys as deposit 🙂
perhaps i shouldn't do this but i was a car salesman, dealerships usually throw u they keys and tell you to help yourself 🙂
the most common scam is belkins, basically they own the same car , ie make model and colour and they come view just to get the reg plate so they can copy it and start getting free fuel at petrol stations, automatic number plate recognition cant really be fooled unless it is a clone of yours in terms of your number plate, then again ebay is the easiest way of getting number plates - imo ebay should be banned from selling cars as it aint worth the hassle concerning accurate descriptions and the fricking 15% charge of the car value
end of the day it is about luck selling cars privately and it is the cnts out there that make buyers very nervous about buying sht
ps create two written receipts with both yours and buyers name &address including the date and time, location, purchase value, registration number, colour, make and model, 9 times out of 10 the buyer never posts the v5 until the tax is due as their is less chance of being caught when done for speeding
