1mm oversized valves will they really fit?

I was messing around with techieboy's old head the other day, bit of DIY porting and got to thinking. I am in the process of getting some 1mm oversized valves from Karo, ( £$ going bad though) there doesn't seem to be much room on the head at all notsure.gif Hope they fit ok

Which valves are you going to use ? The standard stainless steel version they are selling ?
With the power you are looking for I'll deeply suggest you directly choose Ferrea valves, especially for the exhausts ones

Having them oversized is not that important for boosted application, much less than for NA, but having really good quality ones that could survive the heat is.

I'd be tempted to go with std size SAAB turbo/lsj exhaust valves, just like the ones Vocky will have spare, then may be over sized inlets.

I don't know... GM upgrades from LSJ/Saab valves to aftermarket ones after 350bhp, pretty close to what nick should get...

Aftermarket ones (like Ferrea ones) are waisted stem (Superflo) and should flow a bit more, even standard sized

Of course LSJ/Saab ones will work, but at this power level, and especially if you are already buying some other stuff in the US at the same time, I wonder if it won't be more logical to get these valves at the same time

The 3rd edition of the build book say 400 bhp in the component upgrade matrix what..

But if there's other stuff coming then it would make sense for the sake of a couple of hundered £, what are the ferrea one made of Inconel?

That's a bit vague but looks something between stainless and Inconel in material properties.

How does the price/spec compare to the GM Racing ones?

I wonder if I could get some sourced here at a sensible price.

I know someone who has a saab head for sale and was thinking of just putting it one as is, however because it doesn't have a EGR valve I didn't want to have problems with it. The secondary ECU I have and the standard ecu don't get alone well when it comes to not having and egr. I put on 2 cheaters but in the end had to reconnect the valve as it was the only way to get it to run properly.

GM Racing ones are +0.5mm ones and are said to be Inconels for the exhausts; but as I did not see anything official about this, only stores descriptions, I'm not convinced it really is the case

The pictures I've seen of them look like the right colour and finish for inconel (all our turbine wheels are Inconel 713c), but then again web stores make lots of claims what..

I had sold the saab valves but the buyer has agreed you can have first refusal if you want them Nick cheers..

Thanks Vocky really appreciated. Are they the same size as standard z22se ones? just to save me time looking that up. I wil get back to you in the morning I just need to see if I can fix a problem with the car, Just started to get a these

yes the saab / LSJ valves are exactly the same size as the z22se valves, except they are made from a different material to withstand the extra heat generated by forced induction.

bigger valves are only really needed for NA engines, to allow more flow, forced induction engines can retain the standard size valves for road going engines.

throttle body or pedal sensor m8 for p1271

p1612 is the circuits for the injectors / throttle body

usually happens when u unplug the connector for the throttle body or that grey supressor connector nxt to the throttle body for p1612
