Tricky One ?

Guys.. im getting a humming from the rear of the car. does it on smooth roads mostly or thats when i can hear it. have to get to about 50-60 to hear it tho.
dont know wether its wheel bearings. vortex generators on the roof or my tires. also its not a continues hum. its like its vibrato if people know what that sounds like. louder and quiter. also carnt establish with side so im stuck. hope its not wheel bearings.

Sounds like an early wheel bearing prob Ash, take it to a garage as they will just get worse.

well got my mate to have a look and we drove for abit and found it coming from the offside rear. so we jacked it up and span the wheel and it seems like the shoe it just catchin the disc at one point. but the shoe is still ok.

thats good news mate, can you see why the shoe is rubbing the disc?

no not really.. its like its just catchin a one point on the disc. gonna take the shoe to bits and have a look. its only just catchin it and makes a noise doin it so this must be the prob eh ?

sounds like it, sounds like the shoe carrier may be bent??

well i dont know if this counts but i think it started when i went over a hidden speed bump and the back of the car nearly bounced i hit it that hard

sounds like it may be bent then, get it on some ramps if you can and remove the shoe to see if you bend it back.
