help me please no spark

hi ive just put a set of ring in my 2.2 sri 150 built it all back up now i dont have a spark any ideas i am trully fed up with this car 🙁 🙁 🙁

any help appreciated

i put a set of piston rings in the car thanks vocky it was connected but a dirty connection wd40 it now starts first time and no more smoke yippie

quick update ive been out in my vectra today and it feels like its hunting abit rough idle on tickover it does pull ok just seems as though its hunting when driving at a set speed hard to explain any ideas

might be the coil pack or the crank sensor is still playing up

thxs could it be spark plugs as they look a bit tired and dirty
also wots the symptons of the egr playing up thxs vocky

of course the egr will cause a similar error, blank it off and see if things improve

a new set of plugs won't do any harm 🙂

Years ago you never had all this problem with guessing things. Old Skool engines had plugs, carbs, distributer, rotor arm and points which you can quite easily trace the fault back to. Nowadays its all sensors and electronics and you have to search high and low trying to find a problem. What a pain in the ass!

blanked my egr of and now ticks over nice but my light stays on the dash think i read about a egr cheater where do i get 1 of them thxs

as for carbs i remember my first car[nova]

thing started idling dodgeh then u turn the idle mixture screw

clean the jets out and pummel the carb with carb cleaner - then chuck loads of redex down the carb throat and rev the shit out of it

worked every time for me
