WTF has happened to the good old British summers? Just looked at the weather for the next 5 days, and it's going to rain every day. It's also rained every day for the whole of August so far!

Now, I'm only 24, but a couple of years ago there were hosepipe bans, and I remember going to Devon the last week in July 2004, and the grass was yellow and brittle because it had been so hot.

Surely "Global Warming" can't have fucked the weather up that much in just 4 years??

It is strange...I remember as a kid months of summer sun then come winter great snow and weeks of sledging and playing in thick white snow. As you said, crap, wet, short summers, but also a few days of winter snow then more months of rain and slush.

Yeah know what you mean tho, i wish winter meant snow, cold etc, summer hot and dry....wouldnt even mind if it rained in the nights only, just wish the days could be hot and sticky.

I was looking about on the internet last night, and there was quite an interesting snipped I found:

The Met Office described the current weather pattern as a "blip", but Mr Corbyn, a global warming sceptic, disagrees, and insists we are in the early stages of a four-year-long disruptive La Niña-like - the opposite of El Niño - weather system. This is similar to the weather system from 1984 to 1987, when the odd scorchingly hot month was interrupted by very wet and stormy weather, most notably the storms of October 1987.

It usually comes right in September/October. The whole season has shifted.

As for rain, we went to London today and on the way home it rained so hard on the M4 that traffic slowed down to 30mph because you just couldn't see. I had the wipers on flat out and I was leaning over the steering wheel peering out of the windscreen trying to see. Didn't like that at all and it happened 3 times like that.

I know mate, it was the same here yesterday evening. It was raining that hard it flooded the car park at work, in the space of 10-15 minutes.

I agree what you said about the seasons shifting as well. It's really cold in Feb/March, and then gets warmer until September/October, and then it's like we have Autumn where winter used to be.

Year before last I had to abandon my car because of the snow at the end of Feb!
