2.2 sri astra service

Afternoon guys, First post so HELLO from sunny Wiltshire, this is my SRI on an 02 plate, the 2.2 model, as I've come to believe there aint much I can do to her! cry cry!

is there? done the airbox........

Anyways I am looking for a good garage to get a major service done? I'd do it my self but it means loosing money off the selling price! so any where in north wilts you would suggest? or surrounding?

if I do it my self will the "insp" go off the dash?

Hi and Welcome to the forum.

There is plenty you can do with the 2.2 engine, just have a browse around this forum.

If you do the service yourself you can reset the Service Indicator light by:

With the key out of ignition (or in off position) press and hold the mileage trip button...keep it pressed and insert key and turn to IGN (ie lights on dash but dont start engine) keep it pressed for a few seconds until INSP disappears and is replaced by flashing "- - - - -" release the button and the INSP warning light has been reset

Nice looking car and welcome to the site.

Mods wise there is plenty you can do but all depends how much you want to spend.

Your simple mods are

Airbox & Vec C pipe / exhaust / pre-cat removed / 200 / 300 cell Sports Cat /ported T/B

Then

Cams \ 2.4mani \ 4-1 mani or custom 4-2-1 mani.

then big $$$

TB's \ supercharger \ Turbo conversion

I am sure there is some i have missed just have a good search around in the tunning section.

Welcome to the site. As already said, there is loads which can be done to the 2.2 engine, it's all about how deep your pockets are (ask JohnnyN and vocky how deep their pockets must be!)

I think their pockets are bottomless pits, they never seem to run out LOL

Any of you in the Wiltshire area want to help me start playing around then? not going to do anything till end of the month, tell me more about the below gents??? Airbox is done just need a panel filter at end of the month.... , and the vec pipe? off any vectra? 2.5 v6? does is fit in nicely? and what's the rest about? how is the pre-cat removed? will it do damage when MOT time comes around???

the precat (next to the exhaust manifold) can be removed without affecting the mot in any way what-so-ever 🙂

The Vectra C pipe is off the Diesel model. Part numbers can be found elsewhere on the site, costs about £12 all in from Vauxhall

these guys going to balls my car up?! or stick to courtenay, any one else about....

Wrong car for starts. That is for the Z20LET, not the Z22SE. The Z22SE ECU hasn't been cracked, and mapping is hit and miss. Sjdickso had his mapped by ChippedUK, and when it was checked 2 years later, it had gone back to a standard map!

Have a look in the tuning section. There are a few recent threads about mapping on cars, and just how much of a ball ache it is with the z22se ECU. That is one reason why I chose the Z19DTH engine in the Vectra rather than the 2.2, because a remap on those gives between 40bhp-50bhp and a shit load of torque. Similar gaines on the 2.2 can run into £1000s

welcome matey, as said, there are loads of cheapish mods, mine is at 175bhp, now it would start getting expensive, as cams, remap, exhaust manifold, etc.
Just buy mine instead lol...already done.
