Fitting the weapon R to a VX

as I have that section off at the moment.....

100mm x 50mm flexies

50mm 90 degree bends (these measure 125mm from the outer edges, imagine a 125mm square box - the bend will just fit inside it)

As you have got the 2-1 section off would it be possible for you to measure the length from the center of the two vertical pipes to the center of the 2.5" section where it turns through 90 degrees.

Sorry not easy to put into words.

not sure exactly what you mean but...

if the two pipe flange is sat on the bench the centre of the start of the 2.5" section (the Y piece) is 200mm, so add on the 25mm and the total height is 225mm where the 2.5" starts.

I know the flange is 10mm, the flexy is 100mm and the 90 degree bend is 125mm which should make 235mm, but it's 225mm as the Y piece angles slightly to give clearance for the undertrays.

You should weld the flexies straight to the flange, then with 'trial and error' tack weld and double check the section as you go along, it's not a part I would make off the car, you really do need to be trial fitting as you go along :thumbup:

I will be makning this section on the car but want to make sure I get the correct parts to make up the section.

Here's my picture's of my Weapon R I made as promised, as you can see from the pic's I made a small staight pipe between the flange and the flexi's as I found that the spanner hits the body of the flexi's when doing up the nuts.

Yeah there breeze alloys, i ran thoses for a while still have them in the loft.

Now on compomotives(speedlinealikes)
