rite i had trouble with my ignition barrel today, the key just wouldnt turn at all and I tried everything so just took it out and i was going to order a replacement on monday. But i thought if i went to the scrapyard and got a barrel and keys from there could i just swap them with the keys i have now. i have a 2002 vectra b sri and i dont no if all the barrels are the same shape, diameter etc and i was wondering with my car having an immobiliser and RCL can i just swap the bottom key part with the 1s i will get from the crap yard as the keys split in 2, so that would mean i wouldnt need the keys re-programming, as they would still have the old chip in but the new key on the bottom. would that work??
Its just i was needing a barrel to tie me ova until VX could get me 1 but i thort well i would have the chew on of having to take this 1 out agen and thort if i just get the locks aswell from the scrapyard itll b easier changing them than fitting another barrel l8r this week and wasting more money
