advice needed

Right ive got an astra, and the flange on the back box (where it connects to the centre pipe has rotted through. The back box (an irmscher one) itself is fine. Ive got a remus straight through centre section that measures externally 2".

Obviously you cant get the flanges so the only solution is to weld the centre pipe and the back box together or get a new back box.

I quite fancy a Daz downpipe special but if i get that with a 200cell cat i will be running std manifold - 2.5" downpipe - 200 cell cat - 2" centre pipe - backbox. Can anyone tell me if this is bad or ok? Or do i need to get made up a 2.5" centre pipe??

Any help would be much appreciated.

It will be fine mate. Daz has exactly the same setup on his car. 2.5 downpipe, standard manifold, 200 cell cat, 2 inch Remus centre with a Magnex back box.

I have the same problem and the MOT bloke i see suggested the same idea of welding the two pieces together, the only problem if you need to get them apart again.

you could cut the flange off and sleave it but why would you want to take them apart again??

Would it be better to do away with the remus centre pipe and have a stainless 2.5" made or will that pop too much?

I had the same issue.

Just went to a custom exhaust place and had new stainless flanges welded on. Cost about £60. As i really do like the Irmsher BB.

The place i went to said you cant make the flanges, where did you go?

And it sounds nice and subtle as well with the Remus centre section and the irmy back box.

I agree but the remus centre is only a 2" and has obviously a slight restriction over a 2.5" system.

And i dont wanna change bore sizes through the system would rather keep it all one size.

Has anyone got a Milltek centre?

What bore size is a standard manifold?
