need bit of help/advise

hi all

basically i run a reptile forum now a moderator of mine a long with a couple members have posted on a thread,it oes like this

there is like a new version of a breed coming out but its not 100% proven yet,now a mod on my site has said dont beleave all the person says is true on the public forum.
now the person who is breeding these reptiles intends to sell them off,and the person that posted about them 1st was thinking of buying one.

now the person in question is threating me with legal action saying im liable for anything said on the forum ?
and he is also going to sue for loss of earnings ?
as my site has lost him a sale /?

but no where did it say not to buy from him ?just done beleave all he says is true ?

i have since cleared the post up and stated in there i will not allow personal disputes on the site and pointed out the rules to the whole site agin

do you think he has a case ?

unless it's proven that it is a new breed then it would be sensible to suggest caution against purchasing it.

i would have thought it was freedom of speach anyways ? as she did not state dont buy from him just done beleave all he says?

i dont think a public site is liable, you post/sell etc at your own risk.
