snapping on start up causes the least damage, basically some bent inlet valves, possible cracked valve guides, pistons will be marked but should be ok.
I have worked on many engines and the z22se is one of the easiest, the only tools required are; torque wrench, torq bits, breaker bar, decent sockets, spanners
repair will be the cheapest option if doing it yourself 🙂
