TBH mate I think you'd be just as well to keep the Vectra. Regarding fuel, as the Astra is such a big drop in power you may end up using just as much fuel because your having to drive the car harder?? If you can live with the drop in power then this won't apply.
Yes the tax will be cheaper but that's about it. The Astra is smaller too.
