Hey All (again), yet another problem im afraid - this whole engine is gonna be brand new soon! 🙂
Basically im getting a ticking noise when cold. It ticks in correlation with the cam-hesitation (260Deg Piper cams - so around 2-3 iterations per second) but only at idle/very low rpm. Its definitely not a pri/sec chain or follower noise as ive heard all that before, and fixed it :wink:
Other Symptoms when warm:
- The car is also running richer than usual in open loop, yet when 'giving it some' (Closed Lp) runs much better with almost a VTEC like transition, which leads me to think the extra O2 is fooling the lambda?
- Below 1600rpm the car is very hesitant. It likes to Kangaroo a lot and generally idles a bit worse than usual.
- Very occasional misfire/back fire at 50% load at around 3000rpm - running too rich?!
Could these just be another air leak (which i thought id fixed and no longer get any P1514 EML's) or attributed to a Cracked/Loose Manifold? OR BOTH!!? :roll:
Also one for the VX220 guys - how easy is it to get to the manifold bolts? Im guessing the 'boot' opening is wayy too small. Looking at the TIS is it really a ramps and undertray-off job? :shock:
