......but as good as. Hi, I'm a newbie across the water in Australia, Western Victoria. Our lovely 2001, less than 90,000 km, Zafira (eng. no.Z22SETA021837) just spun on the starter motor - pistons whizzing up and down and no nuffin else. At least I wasn't on the freeway! Chain tensioner in many pieces but the chain not broken, just really slack. All the little bits in the rocker box had popped out. Head comes off this week to see how much damage. On the face of it this seems to me to be another "one" - but our chain is not broken - the tensioner is. From the VxON site it looks as though the tensioner was known to be faulty and should have been replaced by the manufacturer. I suspect that the chain was either so slack that that the backlash allowed the timing to mash or the chain flipped when I tried to start the car and slipped a few cogs with the well-known aftermath. Wot say you lot? Also, are there any other Aussies out there who have had to fight this one with The General? I will check as soon as I can whether the oil jet nozzle is blocked. If it is not would this affect my claim? Plainly this engine is well documented for cam chain disasters. I want to put my name on the List. Where is it please? Best regards to all you all you good people fighting the Good Fight!
