dead_astra flashing eml can be caused by a misfire , if this is the problem then the light normally stops flashing when you lift off the throttle . the reason the light flashes is to warn that you could be damaging the catalytic converter with unburnt fuel .
george I know there is a misfire due to oil on plug on no1. cylinder so this looks a strong possibility.
