Well after giving it a quick clean and a little polish in places I decided to strip the front end off. This is as far as I can go now til I get the new parts 🙂. The only thing I have noticed is I am sure the new rad I have upstairs has only one fan, and the one I took off has two fans on the radiator dunno.. .

blimey the chassis rail ends bend easily, but should straighten nicely 🙂

They do mate, I need a tool from my mates garage to sort that out nicely. I painted the bare metal with underbody sealer just to keep it in good condition after I removed the slam panel.

a bit of heat and a quick 'pull' will sort them both

Well, I have just started her up after checking the oil and I noticed cream on the end of the dip stick! I removed the oil cap and noticed it on that also. Now when it started up it sounded fine, a few more seconds and it stated to sound rattley, just like the chain does when it's due to go. Looks like I will be getting a new chain on this and a head gasket done now.

Straight on shot...........

don't be so quick in spending money, change the oil + filter first, condensation could be the cause

I will do that when I change the chain Neil. The rad was broke on my car, so I don't know if anyone has had it running with no water in.

i think he meant dont go buying a new chain yet, see what its like with oil and filter change 1st, coming along tho, how long before its back to mint?

I still have that rattle on the engine Jamee, so I am defo going to need to change the chain. I only ran it for a few seconds and I heard it come on more. I put my head up to the engine and it 's coming from the chain side.

fair enough, change it to be sure, not worth the risk for £100odd, wont take long and your mind will at ease then.

Changing the chain has nothing to do with condensation, Im sure he ment dont pull the cylinder head off until fresh oil is tried with a new filter. (The car might have done alot of short trips etc, and who knows when it was last drained and replaced.
