When I had my chain done at the dealer under warranty there was nowhere to put it in the service book, so I asked them for paper proof that it had been done, they sent me an invoice showingthe following wording and £0 cost.
"Investigated rattling noise from engine area. Traced fault to timing chain. Stripped down timing chest & replaced timing chain kit. Also replaced oil pump gasket & timing housing gasket. Topped up oillevel & tested ok."
So there you go they should give you written proff it has been done, although you may have to ask for it.
