Hey all, ive also posted this on VX220.org so i apologies if youre reading this twice!!
Just driving back from work, the car was sounding a little more rough than usual (Piper Cams + Exhaust!) with perhaps a little more of a blowing 'papping/pinking' kind of noise.
When i stopped at a roundabout the engine almost stalled itself and then instantly revved upto 2400 and make the sound that it was cutting fuel/spark holding it there (somehow goverened; but not by the Throttlebody if you get my drift - it sounded very deep). EML on.
Pulled over and cycled the igniton and it was struggling to idle. Drove down the next road and it seemed to be 100% normal above 1500rpm. Then pulled up at home and the same style governer kicked in, but this time at 1250rpm - sounded very deep and strange for this RPM and could have been on 3 cylinders.
The Scangauge came out, cleared the code and the car started and idled fine, but still had that slight 'papping/pinking' noise. Error code was at stated in the title - does anyone thing it could be to do with water ingress?
