emmisions light coming on!

my emmisions light has come on again, its because the car has an o2 sim! when i get it put on the tech 2 i can get the light knocked off but at £25 a time its getting expensive! is there any way i can stop this from happening? 1st time i can understand as it was realy hot and i was doing a fair speed. think today may have been because the weather has changed quite a bit?

Do you have a sports catt mate?
Also if you disconect the battery for 30-40minutes the EML will go out and reset the ECU mate instead of paying £25 every time the EML comes on also not sure about this but I don't think an o2 sim should cause an EML notsure.gif as I have a 200 cell sports catt and need to get an o2 sim to try and keep the EML from coming on!
If you do have a sports catt it could well be it that's causing the EML and the o2 sim isn't wired properly or something... dunno..
No doubt someone will be able to awnser your question better than me but hope that helps some mate... cheers..

have you wired the earth directly to the battery? You must do this. I used to have the same problem and once wired to the battery, all was okay.

i checked yesterday, it is grounded to the battery? also i cant disconnect the battery without the alarm goin off? looks like i'll have to live with the light for a while!

also yeah i have got a sports cat, the exhaust & cat were bought from courtney at the same time?

where u to in south wales m8......i can put ure light out for ya if ya want.......seems like u have the same problem as me tho,i got a courtenay cat and my light comes on every now and then....

If the code is a 'Present' fault, you will not be able to clear the EML. Hopefully yours should be okay.

Got the same problem myself seems to be a big problem not only with VXLS my mate put one on his Type R and got an EML!
I've not got an o2 cheater though but I'm gonna go for one of those Gauges with the box hopefully that should sort it seen a good AEM one so hoping to get it soon...
