iainderby I have a vectra 2.2 sri and have fitted the chain as defined in this forum. Unfortuanately on turning clock wise at a point my chain dips between the two cam sprokets. I have replaced the head due to a previously cracked head. The chain cover is removed and all marks alighn ok. This is not a new chain having only covered 54000 miles and engine was working ok before strip. Please note at No 4 the cam lobes are upwards and all the coloured links are matched ok. Any suggestions to cause the chain to be slack? Tensioner is pushing on the chain guide ok.
vocky sounds like a failed tensioner, these cost £45, better to buy a new timing chain kit for £95 just in case a guide has cracked 🙁
iainderby Thanks for your advice. However not long after posting this topic I replaced the chain assembly and this resolved the problem.
