HELP NEEDED - MAGNAFLOW CAT

Finally my new MAGNAFLOW cat arrived (thank you Vocky :wink: )...and can't wait to see it installed!!! 😃

It seems it's not directional and nothing about that is advised on the box...any risk of installing it one way ore the other? :oops:

I asked him this question when I bought mine and I was told that it wasn't directional! I have a magnaflow, and got it from Nemesis as I only live about 10 miles away!

I'm planning to cut the original cat from its section and then weld the new one...any advise on that? :roll:

Daz did mine mate, although I was there, I wouldn't be able to offer any advice on welding I'm afraid!! LOL!

I did it the same way as you are planning..

my advice is, create a (sort of) jig: if you can get a wooden or metal box or crate, drill some holes in it and bolt the existing cat section in, then cut the old one out. Now you know the exact size that your new cat should fit into because the two existing parts are screwed down in the exact position that they will be on the car. Saying that, mine's a bit (about 1cm) off centre at the back

Well, it's done...and really seems worth every penny!!! 😃

I'm surprised because I've clearly noticed more torque under 3.500 or 4.000 rpms :shock: ...still, I have to say that my car also has an ITG and precat removed...

VSE has been improved too, giving a more powerful tone...cool! 8)

I wonder what should I expect beyond 4.000 rpms...I'll see this weekend

I must admit that I too was surprised by the magnaflow cat, you could really notice the difference 🙂

One's listed as "without air tube" but obviously both are without air tube ?

Other than physical size, will they do the same job ?

There's a 1-4 week wait for the cheaper (they estimate 3 weeks) so I'm looking at the more expensive one 🙁
