Bad handling

Ok, realise this is a bit difficult as there are many possible causes...

I have noticed a bad change in the handling of my vectra, almost an overnight thing. Best way to describe it is when turning in the back end feels like its sliding around-generally vague and quite unsettled. I've ruled out tyres/pressures as it had previously been fine. Its more noticeable when turning right, as if I need to add more lock strangely. Tried the 'bounce' test and shocks don't appear to be bad, springs are only a few months old.

My question is if this could be caused by worn shocks, dodgy roll bar mounting, bushes or if it is more serious. Have done 74k and wondered if there are any typical known problems around this age?

if its happened over night go back and check your trye pressure

Its something far more noticeable than just tyre pressures, but I checked them anyway and they are as normal.
Puzzled as I had the wheels off today and a quick poke around but couldn't find anything. Starting to suspect the rear struts, there is a bit of more bounce in them than the fronts but not a huge amount

Ok, problem solved.

Turns out the rear bushes were gubbed. Not just a bit, but properly shot to bits. 4 new bushes, new dampers for good measure and it's solid, couldn't believe the difference.

Why are the bushes so notorious on the vectra?

i think they go in most cars generally after so many miles, especially if the car has been lowered for some time, or floored a fair few times, at least it sorted now.
