astra hatch into coupe

hi guys

people on aoc say that a astra coupe turbo interior will fit stright into a 3rd hatch so would a 3rd hatch fit into a coupe? i no the seats will bolt striaght in but what bout door cards etc..

i think you have to trim the rear seats K, no the doors are much bigger on the coupe, and the rear qtrs are smaller (i think).

looks like i woant be buying the gsi interior then 🙁

Perhaps its the other way arouund then, the rear bench will be to small for the coupe, ill try and find out for you.

They do fit

Front seats - straight swap

Front door cars - straight swap, but you need to retain the top weatherstrip off the hatch cards, due to the hatch window having a frame

Rear seat - straight swap, but you'll lose the centre seat belt which is an MOT failure. however you can get a centre lap strap form VX

Rear cards - don't fit, but the centre panel is the same size and easy enough to swap over. cut it out with a Stanley knife (from the back) and then hot melt glue it on the other card

really?!? maybe a gsi turbo interior should go in then 😃

so all i gota do is cut the cloth bit out on the rear cars and clue them on the coupe ones?

A GSi one would be easier as you wouldn't have to change the door cards - they are grey "Texas" the same as later 2.2's, and they'll look shit in GSi's (IMO) as they don't match the Recaro blue fleck material

There's a raised lip about 1/4" wide on the back of the card where the two were originally joined/glued - just slice down the middle of that with a Stanley knife and the material panel will come out

i always thought the coupe and hatch wouldnt swap as the coupe was slightly wider, or is it the 5 door seats wont fit?

It'll look shit because you stick GSI recaros in, and you can't get matching door cards because VX never bothered to make them. Just VX being penny pinching yet again when it comes to interiors 🙂

but i thought you said the door cards would go on the front no problem and the back just need cutting and glueing?
