Better, different 2.4manifold ?

Hello 🙂

I´m new registered to the board, but naturally already reading for many weeks the complete story of the glorius mods of the heros from this community. I´m riding a VX and i´m located in germany, so please excuse any language faults in advance.

In the TMS-vx-board one has found a different 2.4 inlet mani and regarding the part, I have special questions:

What is about the effectness of this linked intake http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2-4-GM-Q ... enameZWDVW ? Shouldn´t it more match to the character of the engine regarding the shorter tubes? The flow himself should be built also better than the stock one. So the increase should be on the complete rev-range, shouldn´t it?

What do you think about it? And would it fit in the bay?

the description is 2.4 quad, this is an old american engine - late 90's

doubt it would fit the 2.2 ecotec engine

If it doens´t look different, it wouldn´t be different, wouldn´t it... :roll:

The mountingposition look similar to me...Or do you think there will be not enough room in the vx-enginebay for it?

What about the effectness regarding the flowbuilt shape with short tubes? What do you think?

my way of thinking is.....

if it fitted somebody on jbody.com would have done it and I haven't seen a post to say they have

jbody is an american car similar to an astra, it has the 2.4 quad engine, 2200 engine, 2.2 engine and of course the 2.2 ecotec engine, so they tend to swap engines and bits between models if possible

I must admit it would be a good sc inlet or turbo

it's true, without trying different stuff we would still be sub 180 bhp
