finaly think i got my anoying rattle diagnosed...took to my mates garage and they seem think it the thrust bearing.you only hear it in first and second when you crawling along...ie in busy traffic...stop and start etc.they checked the heat shields on exhaust etc,engine mounts and think pretty sure it the bearing...said it either dried up or knackerd.the noise does sound like a bearing and when you dip the clucth when it happens it does go.they reckon i can either have clucth changed etc or just leave it and put up with it till get worse.depends wether i want spend the money etc.they did quote me about 250 plus vat for the clucth kit etc and fitting....does this sound resonable..i used them for years and they been pretty straght with me everytime.any ideas people ???
