Well I fitted my irmscher handbrake cover at the weekend, wot a nightmare.
Cutting the old one off took ages, being careful not to damage anything else.
Went to put on the glue that came with it to bond it to the metal lever and the whole tube had gone off. Got on the phone to LMF where I bought it from, they did not have any spare tubes of this stuff. To be fair they said they would get irmscher to replace the glue tube, but I needed it like yesterday, as the handbrake was in bits.
Tried ordinary silicone sealant, but that did not go off. Pulled the cover off, spent ages cleanng all the gunk out and went to buy some sikaflex windscreen sealant from the local parts factor.
Finally stuck the cover on and two days later it has gone off.
I'd rather fit a quickshift kit, its a lot easier...............
Anyone else used anything other than the right stuff to stick one of these on, if so what did you use, I thought of using gripfill or no nails, but it seemed a bit bodgey to me.
I've got to fit the wood effect one to the wifes astra elegance soon, and I've already checked the glue tube and yep thats gone off too, but I got this one off e-bay, so no comeback there.
