KnN panel + dbilas scoop

i bought a KnN panel and fitted it today... the box is also de-restricted

while doing this...

i fitted the dbilas scoop which is about an inch or 2 bigger than the veccy pipe.

and have got to say i think its wank atm.... there is no induction noise wot so ever i dont mean like a cone but there was slight noise with the standard set up but this has completely gone.

just feels like ive lost power

i will be giving it a week for the ecu to adjust then if it hasnt got any better i will be going back to panel filter

anyone have any views?

Sorry to hear that you are dissapointed with it.

Like you say it may be best to give it a bit for the ECU to adjust dunno..

try resetting the ecu K, got to give it a few days to adjust tho.For the money, the difference it gives compared to the veccy c one just isnt worth it imo, but it was worth a try tho just to see.

i got to agree with you jammee i wouldnt pay £110 for it i picked it up alot cheaper than that 2nd and and the diff between this and the veccy c is a bit...

i was a bit pissed off at this 2bh coz it just felt like it lacked power so i had it down a strip of motorway to test it and then drove home and posted the above post. then i went to pick the misses up and said listen to this it sounds wank and just booted it in 2nd and she was like wtf and i suprised my self coz if fooking shot off.. so i decided to take it down the motorway and back and it has made a diffrence it feels quicker and the misses said it feels quicker.

i am hoping it is down to the ecu needs adjusting becuase alot more air is getting passed through but will be out this weekend back to see the folks so it should give it long enough to sort out and will report back

Definately disconnect the battery for ₃₀ minutes, and then take it easy (below 4krpm) for 50 miles to make the ECU re-learn. I did this when I fitted the Veccy C pipe, and it made a difference once the ECU knew what to do

When you say de-restricted, does this mean you removed the tube in the airbox ?

If you done this, that-s why you loosed some low/mid end power, this is not a restrcitor at all at its length is important for the power curve (even if it is not its primary goal), when you remove it you loose some intake side length and move all your power curve to the higher end.

would you also do this for a cone induction kits i.e mine ( pipercross ) because i put it on and just drove.. i didnt know your ment to doo that 🙁

well reseting the ecu just speeds up the process as it has to learn new perametres, but the ecu will have to learn these over time
