New HU

The wife has just bought me a new HU for the car.

Pioneer DEH-P7000UB

I finally have a decent stereo in the car after almost 4 years of putting up with that shitty Sony HU.

I've got the IPOD sat in the glove box

I know, I don't even think I'm going to try selling the old HU, it can either go free to a good home, or straight in the bin

Very clean looking stereo Matt, (whats your wife after - thats how it works at mine!!)
Like the look of that function wheel, & the USB`s a fantastic feature.

Yeah, only problem I've got is that the steering wheels controls don't work. I need to look into getting a harness to make them work again, but that will be after the holiday.

As for the wife, I bought her a digital camera for her present, so this is mine......I don't think she's after anything

i think pioneer are and have been the best for car audio for along time , ( my prefrence ) i used to have 1 in my last vectra .. carnt remember what the model was , but it was the first to come out with the dolphins animation swimming and 2 other animations aswell , talkin @ least 5 years old !

That was also my first Pioneer, and I absolutely loved it. Model was Pioneer DEH6400r

Standard Vauxhall Speakers, and it sounds 100% better than the Sony unit. There is actually bass there now.

Have you got plans to upgrade the speakers

Possibly, when I upgraded to some components in my old 106, the sounds was improved no end again, so I may look to do the front speakers. Have you done yours?

That was the other option for me Jamee, but for the extra cost of having the Album art, and no option to play CDs, the Pioneer suited me better for what I want.

Also, don't get that Alpine one from Halfords, get it online and you'll only be paying £220 for it.
