It is suggested to change lambdas around 50k miles. I changed mine at the weekend for no other reason that the engine is getting on at 55k - the difference is the idle is smoother and the engine is now more reponsive below 2,000rpm.
For the sake of £60, I would recommend changing the pre cat lambda at 50k miles.
