Teckynou Hi. A friend of me bought a new Astra mk4 Convetible in 2005. I saw last week-end that his engine doesn't have an EGR... but have the blanking plate. He never made the modification, and it was a new car when he bought it, not a used car. There is also no prewire for the EGR. Do you know why? Thanks
baldie87 thats weird.... even amercia are doing the egr now with the new engines 07 onward i think not to sure... maybe vaux ran out when it was made lmao be interested to know where its gone
Sjdickso That does sound odd, maybe had a fault and the dealership just switched off via tech 2 and cut the cable LOL.

Teckynou sorry, I forgot to specify that this is a French Opel Astra, not au vauxhall. but i think it's the same
vocky it may well have had a problem at some point and the dealer removed the egr valve, but it's also possible the egr valve wasn't fitted at the factory what..
Sjdickso Mine was a 2003 model and still had one and i am sure that i have even seen Vec C later then that with them as well.
Teckynou If my have a good memory, Precat also have benn removed since 2003. Perhaps the absence of EGR is linked with that
