i have changed the drive and got a liteon as this was retail and ive had good expirence with them...

as you can the cpue is the quad core one... i choosed this one for future proofing mainly as i only upgrade every 3-5 years or it would get very expsenive.. if you build your own and upgrade every year or 2 i would recommend getting another cpu as intel have brought out new arcutecture for the cpu which has increased the fsb to 1333 i think it is.

havent got any bits through yet apart from the case so cant really comment....

1st impressions of the case is its pritty good for £50 cant realy complain.... buidl quatliy is pritty good apart from the front which is made out of plastic which could be made a lill better but it does come with some good features and big fans inside.

mine is fast as hell at the moment, but i am slowly filling the it up with pics etc, and i want more ram, only got 1gb, was thinking of a laptop, but i got to buy an external HD 1st to backup my 11gb of photos.

quite a nice build , im guessing your running xp ? otherwise i would say its worth getting 4gb ram

I spent 380 quid on my comp which i built a couple of weeks ago and its current spec is

P5N-T deluxe
Q6600 (go stepping) with tuniq tower cooling
2gb ocz reaper ram 1066mhrz
8600GTS
500gb barracuda sata II

although i did carry the 8600GTS from my old comp since i dont have enough money to go bigger ( im a poor student )
And i need a new case since i had to remove a fan to fit in the tuniq tower heatsink , check out its dimensions !!

yea im going to put it xp on it, got vista on me laptop and dont think much to it 2bh..

the thing i do with a computer dont warrent 4gb ram... i wanted a fast machine for what i used it for which i think i have done.... the only thing lacking is the graphics card but the one i got does the job

fook that you should try and build your own its not that hard, hardest but i found was attaching heat sink and fan coz it was so big

I have built several up over the years, this one done December 2006 an E6600 on capilliary air cooling will run 3.5Gb 24/7 in an Assus P5WDH Deluxe mobo, nice boards they make. The ram at the time was expensive 2 off 1Gb sticks DDR2 PC8500 Corsair XMS2 Dommie £270 on offer 63.. Now looking at £45 plus postage easilly run 1300meg FSB. The quad core will drop straight in this mobo.
Debating whether to upgrade the GPU could slap it in the Assus A8N SLI, Athlon 3700 built 2 1/2 years ago or leave it and build another puter in 12 months. Record and play back HD Blue Ray etc may need 1Gb GPU ram still quite expensive, about the same price i paid for the 256mg 1950XT which gets hot at standard clock speeds.

You may want to slap some extra fans in, the best around quite cheap.

This one set me back a bit the ram caught me out so was an additional cost, thought i would nick the 2gb ram from an old AMD Barton 2800 setup.

I receive more channels than a Samsung digi tv LE40M86 not the cheaper LE40R87. Can record one channel whilst watching or recording another (twin digi tuners) straight to hard drive. Configure GPU to play back on TV as another monitor, whats the point in a standalone inferior PVR.
Foget those USB and all other cards, tried them most are useless.

Theres always a tolerant price ie latest CPU are around £1k, leave it two months it will be £400 to 500, leave it 4 to 6 months £150.
When you see computers £500 ready to go its because they are from obsolete stocks that no one wants, times change fast in two years. 6 months time this machine wont be worth upgrading at any cost.

Also looking at going back to Vista 32 or 64 bit but dont like the price of the retail Ultimate. Need it on two machines and i regulary format the drives so no OEM etc.
