anyone done there own aircon regass??

hiya just wondering if anyone has done there own aircon regass with 1 them kits from halfords etc????
like to hear if they any good etc cos want do mine

the halfords kits are only designed to top up, you are better off paying £40 to a garage and have the system refilled completely 🙂

How do you know if its gone neil?...mine is still coldish, but not icy, but ive never had it done 3yrs ive had it.

Its not just about the gas jamee.....best to get it serviced regulary.....i'd do ure for you but ure car wont fit in me works lol

result.....45 quid at kwik fit.no leaks or nothing.last owner just cudnt be bothered to get done i think.now it nice and chilly and just in time too.so top marks to kwit fit for very cheap regass and check.beats the 38 diy kit from halfords

well to be honest it will be only time i use em.wouldnt trust em with anything else.first thing he sadi"by way your eml light on" and could see pounds signs in his eyes.to which i replied "yer it mate it duff erg valve which i have blanked off and just waiting for a cheater to trick the ecu" cue straght on to aircon.poor girl in there who had service and car misfiring and they sayin it could be all sorts.punctures if im stuck and aircon and tht all trade they gret from me.what happend to the guy u mentioned

They messed up his brand new alloys then tried to tell him to get lost, he won a new set of em tho.

not good.this bloke took a bmw x5 in and said the aa said his battery is duff but go to kwikfit to get bench test.chap says they dont do battery test and would have to order new 1.225 quid and the bloke says yer that fine and it ordered etc.mad ...they got signs up everywhere saying free battery cheeck and the guy didnt even offer to check with multimeter to check battery.certainly know how get money out folks.i think it best to go in wearing work wear cos least they no you get hands dirty and chance you not going be fobbed off

I've e-mailed a company local to me who come out and re-gas their aircon for you to see how much it will cost, as mine is totally shot at the minute

well i would recomend kwit fit for tht..was in there arf hour and you cudnt knock the 45 quid price

dont trust em at all, rather drive to matt's to get those guys to do it.

Thats quick...i usually reclaim old gas and oil in system,then vacumn the system for 45mins,then add oil and tracer dye then regas....takes around an hour usually....
