Looking for some no biased advice

Been looking at 2 second hand z22se vectra unit to replace the blown one in mine...

Now ive got the regs and have a friend who works in the trade who knows someone at Vauxhall have a look at the Recall history of the car/engines....now its states they havent had/needed a recall but none were due on that engine attached to the records they have...

Was it only certain 2.2 z22se engines affected by the well documented Cam chain/oil passage way woes or was it accross the board or its just Vauxhall not admiting the fault?

Want to buy another engine but dont want to have to fork out another £200 to get that done aswell...

Any ideas?

all vectra B engines had the small oil jet, most pre 03 plate engines also had the small oil jet

my advice, replace the cam chain kit on whatever engine you buy

I replaced my 03 plate chain even though it was the later type, it's just not worth the hassle for £100
