A guy who hasnt long joined the site got in contact with me the other week and asked if i cud do his chain as it was rattling a bit.....so he dropped the car at my garage yesterday and i made start today.....this is what i found..
Slack between both cam sprockets ....
Removed lower chain cover and noticed something was missing(guide rail)..but the bolt was still there acting as the guide....
the oil jet had been worn away aswell as various heads of various bolts....
Slack was well ......well slack..pic below shows how much....
and video of the slack
And the various peices of guide rail i found lodged in various orrfices of the chain area.
The timing was out a tooth,and how it was still running i dont know....was a really lucky guy.....
